AGENDA
Welcome – Review & Approval of September Minutes –Carter Park Shed Update – SCA Membership Review – SCA Executive Board Nominees and Introductions – SCA Executive Board Elections- Future SCA Meetings and requests for meeting topics- Other Membership Drive was held as people entered the meeting.
1. Welcome
Joanna welcomed everyone and explained the election process.
2. Review of September Minutes
Brenda motioned to accept the Minutes. Dawn seconded the motion. All were in favour.
3. Carter Park – Shed Update
Adam informed us that the main person that the Carter Park Make-Over group meets with (Alex)
is currently on vacation and there will be a future meeting to set up the re-painting of the hut and
chess boards. Brian had information that vandalism occurred at both Carter Park and Bishops 4917474.1
Park on the same date. Joanna will follow up to find out the city policy regarding tagging/graffiti
as the fact that kids signed their art it might be considered ‘tagging’ by the city.
4. SCA Membership Review
Brian confirmed that based on the Constitution, only members in good standing are eligible to
vote in elections. Nominations put forward for election were as follows:
President –Brian Goodman (uncontested)
Vice President – Joanna Millions(incumbent); Elisabeth Brown
Secretary – Natasha Murphy; Brenda Mitchell
Treasurer – Katherine Dymkowski; Ralph Meiers
A blind vote was agreed upon.
President: The role of president was uncontested and Brian Goodman received unanimous
support for the position.
Vice President: Elisabeth Brown
Secretary: Tie
Treasurer: Tie
Tied positions re voted with Brian stepping down from his vote to give odd number for results.
FINAL RESULTS: Executive effective immediately and for 2013 are:
President: Brian Goodman
Vice President: Elisabeth Brown
Secretary: Natasha Murphy
Treasurer: Katherine Dymkowski
Brian called for a vote of thanks to Paul Casey for navigating a difficult and busy year. Brian also voiced his plans for the year including the integration of the SNAP committee and their goals into the SCA and the need to generate better communication within the neighbourhood.
