- If we have more money could we expand? Possible, however, can be hard to keep momentum going, usually end up losing a couple nights (used to be 8 weeks, bumped back to 4), could use more promotion , postcards were great in the past

- Also updated that – the wrap-up party was held in mid-November and Jason Farr asked us to find out what the community members wish to see as the theme for next year’s Plan Local budget. In January, I will meet again with the advisory committee to start discussing the next Plan Local. By next SCA meeting, I hope to gather community members’ ideas for the next theme (i.e.: Parks and Rec, Beautification, Cycling, etc.)

Email from Councillor Jason Farr regarding Rail Trail Crossing (revised for length):
As well, Public Works committee met this week and tabled a report from our Traffic and Engineering folks respecting the rail trail intersection. The report included costing of a bridge v originally requested (by you the people of Stinson) and staff supported and approved pedestrian light. The difference is about one million dollars if we were to go the route of the bridge.
Councillor Merulla spoke to the issue and we have since discussed a possible plan to fund a 1.3 million dollar ped bridge (apprx). He suggested that Area Rating Funding of approximately 200 k from 5 separate wards affected/benefiting from the trail – wards 5, 3, 2, 6 and 7 would be the optimal solution. Then the red light camera reserve would fund the portion that is the equivalent to a light (appx 300k). This is the option that committee member Merulla feels would gain support. Unfortunately, having spoken to all five ward councillors and I can only get buy-in from 3 of 5. So, 400k short if you want the bridge.
I hope that you will discuss this tonight and report back to me. Does the SCA want to proceed with the bridge – make efforts to find additional funding sources and have the bridge work begin next year and conclude in about two and half years (says staff), or, get the SCA and PBW2 requested safe crossing in as soon as the weather is good in the spring?
