- Co chair vacancy upcoming…
- Sunil, Dave, Grant, Lorraine, Tim Button, Nicole, Tina, Alain H. Bureau – Gibson visitor, Melanie P (NAE), Karl, Ben and Christina.
- Note from last month’s treasurere’s report: Salesforce – the number was misreported as $1000 but was actually $600 so that is where the misrepresentation stemmed from – the community should involve Tariq in the allocation of these funds so that they are inline with Salesforce goals

3. What are your thoughts on the Downtown Secondary Plan
1. Karl reviewed the Downtown Secondary Plan (see attached powerpoint plan)

- Check out more at your own leisure at https://www.hamilton.ca/city-planning/ planning-community/downtown-hamilton
- Planning meeting in April – more information to come
- Council to vote in the General Issues Council
- Very little impact on the Stinson neighbourhood – only the area that is West of Victoria and North of Stinson would be affected

- Very light language in regards to the above concerns
- Tuesday March 6, 2018 – 6:30pm at the Central Public Library
1. Email to be sent out to remind members closer to the date
- Dave reviewed the benefits of the plan were discussed: stabilized taxes, displaced businesses can move into lower cost rents with more dispersed access
- Getting rid of the development charge discount – adding amenities into the city without cost to the taxpayer
- Section 27 of the planning act was debated by some parties as possible remediations to the small attention paid to the communities concerns. This may or may not apply to the DSP
- This plan grew out of Places to Grow – which is a plan to mandate density
- Final version to be released in April – could someone come to talk about it at a future
meeting??
- There was examples of how the efficiency of our tax dollars is improved and how it is an upside of developing an area shown in the 2014 Mayoral debate
- Provincial growth mandates are in place to create jobs
