1. Welcome, Indigenous Land Acknowledgement, Review of Values, Mission and Vision, Introductions
1. It was disclosed that there are 6,000 neighbours in the neighbourhood
2. Treasure’s Update
- Feb 8 – $5026
- March 8 – $4907.37
1. Bank fee: -$2.50
2. Air pot: -$92.89
- Reserved grant $1225.69
- Stinzine account – monthly fee -$2.50 —> $469.61
- Small grants out there to reimburse for the airpots
3. SNAP Priorities
1. Plan Local/Participatory budgeting in Ward 2
1. Next year this could change given the split of the neighbourhood between two wards
- $160,000 to be spent within the neighbourhood
- Engagement is needed in this neighbourhood
- Can also be for collaborative neighbourhood partnerships
- Next meeting we can have a broader conversation about ideas
- IDEAS: painting the underpass with chalk paint, wifi in Carter Park, traffic crossing near Corktown
- There is a framework that would outline some costs of previously researched ideas to springboard off of, stage in Bishop’s Park, level an area for ice rink in Carter Park

- New representative on the Exec for this role given the loss of the staffing support?
- Ward 2 Community Council Ideas
- March 26, 2018 heads of neighbourhoods and councillor Farr meet (City Hall – council board room – 6-8pm)
- Chance as a neighbourhood to talk with the councillor and other neighbourhoods
- IDEAS: new storm sewers, Carisma Church development plans?
- Deadline to submit ideas are one week before (March 19th, 2018)
- SMALL GRANTS, BIG IDEAS
- Two workshops – March 21st and 26th
- SEE BROCHURE ATTACHED for timing and location
- Clean and Green Grant
- $500 from the city and it’s a twice a year funding grant for beautification and clean up initiatives
- Railtrail clean up – community event
- 4-5 chalkboard paint stations on the underpass, food and advertising to be done
- April 21st – beautiful alleys
- The grant decision has not been received yet
- Can apply again in the fall so this is available – along with supplies and a trailer

1. Bike share/SoBi is having their third anniversary at 5:20pm from each end of cannon street
1. March 20th – celebration at the arcade on George St
2. June 2 – Barton Fest coincides with 100 in 1 day
- Welcome to come and join or have a table at the Fest?
- Between Victoria and Wentworth (12pm-8pm)
- Keith neighbourhood is having a strawberry Thunderfest the same night with fireworks at 8pm until late
9. Terra Lynne from the Hamilton Council on Aging
- Hamilton Council on Aging has a program that they’re hoping to oversee with some community organizations
- Hoping to find seniors that are isolated in their homes as they are disconnected from service providers
- A connector works with them for 6 months as a systems navigator (e.g. meal delivery, registering for DARTS, getting a seniors rec membership and signing up for classes)
- Also have peer connectors
- 20 hours of interpretation is available or $300
- Low threshold for isolation – basically a senior that needs help
- Covers all of Hamilton

1. We don’t know where everything ended up
1. A lot of equipment was damaged, some went to Evergreen and some things may have been sold
2. So the question is now: how and where do we access various items for the different events
- Could we share with other neighbourhoods?
- Hamilton Association for Residential and Recreational Redevelopment Programs (HARRRP) – you can use things from there with a sign in and sign out
12. STINZINE
- New edition is out!
- Organizing for early mid next week to talk about distribution
- [email protected] if you’d like to help distribute or contribute
13. Election
- Could we hold or co-host a debate or a townhall?
- Durand usually does a debate for councillors – could we pair up? Invite Corktown too?
- This will be brought to the Ward 2 Community Council for collaboration
- Alain: Crown Point, Sherman, GALA, Keith, and Beasley have all gotten together to set up a town hall for the provincial election
1. May 15th or 24th, probably at Prince of Wales PS – asking the candidates their availability

1. Outdoor meeting in April depending on the weather? 1. Accessible patio for April 12th?
- Ben talked about branding (banners, signage)
- Advertisement on the bulletin board of the Central Memorial Rec Centre
- Alternating between business and more informal
- Sandwich board
1. Maybe an application to the Allegra grant could cover these?
- Facebook, mailchimp, twitter are all linked
- Stinson 100 in 1 – potluck and tacos?
