· LRT – A representative will be coming to a meeting in the future
· International Village – (Copied from an update sent via email) – International Village- Background: h June 2016, the SCA accepted a motion to intentionally support our local BIA s and offer our support through LRT Construction to promote events and shopping local. We want to start before construction so that the habit of shopping local can be ingrained in our residents. Sunil and I met with Susie, head of the International Village BIA, in February. We believe we have secured advertising from them for the Zine in the new format once confirmed. They are “rebranding” as “the Village” and did a social media campaign in February to encourage people to shop local and use the hashtag “the Village”. They again appreciate our support and the residents who make a point to shop local. They are planning a movie night this summer, a Canada 150 event in June, and then Victorian Night in the Village. We will mention these in the Zine. Susie is also planning a tour of the Village shops for the SCA and they will confirm a date for that in the spring. We can have a raffle at our Events for the Village 50 once events are confirmed, let me know the date, time, location, and I’ll request some prizes.
