Dear community members, colleagues and partners in the Neighbourhood Action Strategy:
On behalf of Don Jaffray and the Social Planning and Research Council, I’m delighted to announce the appointment of Lyna Saad to the position of Community Developer for the Crown Point and Stinson Neighbourhoods of the Neighbourhood Action Strategy. Lyna recently moved to Ontario from New York City with experience in community development and affordable housing. She has worked with organizations such as City Year New York, the New York City Housing Authority, and the Rosenberg Housing Group, where she utilized program management, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills. She’s an avid volunteer in her own neighbourhood and is a firm believer in community empowerment through planning. Lyna holds a Masters in Urban Planning from City University of NY — Hunter College.
Lyna will be spending the first part of the month getting to know the residents in Crown Point and Stinson and learning more about the exciting next steps in their plans. She brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in working with neighbours, agencies, funding partners and will bring an exciting dynamic to our team of Community Developers at the Social Planning and Research Council.
Lyna can be currently reached at [email protected] and we will be sending updated contact information regarding her phone number soon.
I want to thank the members of the hiring committee – Tony Lemma and Elizabeth Seidl from Crown Point and Dawn Mcilmoyle and Mike Montreuil of Stinson for their participation and leadership in bringing Lyna on board.
Welcome Lyna!
