Janes’s Walk is a movement of free, locally led walking tours inspired by Jane Jacobs. The walk gets people to explore their cities ad connect with neighbours. The annual global festival is May 2nd, 3rd & 4th!
This year there are a number of walks taking place in close vicinity to Stinson:

In the Mid to Late 70’s Cathedral Boys High School was one of the last bastions of the all-boys segregated high schools. It was a school steeped in history and tradition, facing the challenges of a continuously changing community. This tour will retrace the steps of a typical gym class, as the boys used to run through the Stinson neighbourhood. We will be starting at the school on the corner of Main and Emerald, and making our way to LifeSaver Park (Cumberland Street).

Firefighter Josh will be guiding a kid-centric Jane’s Walk along the rail trail. We will meet at Corktown Park at the fire truck where kids will be welcome to explore the truck and meet local firefighters. From there Josh will guide the children along the rail trail to a secret interactive landscape hidden at the base of the escarpment that will capture imaginations and encourage children to re-imagine public space.Firefighter Josh Stringer is the proud father of Ruby and Foxley and is married to our very own Jane’s Walk media grrl, Amanda. They live in Sherman.
