Memorial Recreation Center – Meeting Minutes for December 6th 2012

Secretary , Natasha Murphy – Review of previous meeting minutes minutes passed.
Treasurer, Katherine Dymkowski – Report from the Treasurer update on deposits.
Suzanne Brown – Update on Neighbourhood Strategy plan. City is excited and working to streamline contacts. Currently in the process of categorizing each goal and assigning to a city department for review. City is excited to get plans into action and strategizing on moving, goal to complete by end of year.
Introduction- Rebecca Doll, Community Development worker. Rebecca is an experienced entrepreneur with roots to the Downtown community. Rebecca has an extensive background and experience with the city and advocating community growth. We welcome Rebecca as valuable resource in assisting our sub-committees and liaison. Rebecca is offering her assistance and encourages questions.

Stinson Community Implementation Process – Elisabeth Brown, Lucio Barcarol
Overview – Ŧo become manageable, efficient and to allow for sufficient support in committees. Goals have been reviewed, no changes made, just reorganized into goals A-K.
Objective – Members to review goals, review their previous commitment to those goals. Sign up sheets for goals to confirm commitment and sign up for new goals.
Teams – Decide upon by participants. Select a Chair. and decide Roles, meeting times and mode to communication, decision making etc… Project Management Basics will be offered by SCA. Date to be determined.
Roles – Will evolve over time so all participants may decide how best to be involved as planners, volunteers, speakers, resources etc…
Lucio Barcarol will help with integration and directions to sub-committees and track progress as well as assisting with timelines.
Elisabeth Brown will help with organization and set-up as well as committee support.
Suzanne Brown and Rebecca Doll will help the SCIP Chair and SCA and committees of SCIP as liaisons to the City of Hamilton Departments.
SCA will continue to assist with implementation plan in coordination with regular SCA business.
Volunteer Pool – Important resource for any event, and committee. A way to be involved without having to make a long term commitment. If unable to sign-up for a goal but interested in assisting with plan events, communication and assisting with implementation when needed.
Unfinished business – Logo/Branding, notice of call for submission to be issued. Date to be announce.
Open Forum Remarks
Ice Rink- Not possible this year at Carter Park location because of park grading. This can be reviewed as part of the carter park make-over or SCIP plan.
Meeting Closing remarks – Next Meeting Thursday January 10th 2013.Seasons Greeting. Thank you for coming.
